Plans For Service learing

I have a couple of plans for my service learing this week ......
1) is for all of the propusal to be handed in
2) for my group to figure out what we want to do with this school thing
3) hand in all of my stuff on time
These are my plans for the end of service learning i m looking forward to working on this next year.

community service week 9

This week was a great week. We had got a lot of work done that we needed to do. Also everybody had came together to work as one team and she had grouped us as three different groups. I m in the group that we are wanting to make flower pots for the school classrooms. We will have to make a propusal for the constitution center for them to see what we want to do and plan for next year. Also my plans fro this week is for our group to go out to see what tyoe of flowers there our out there because they can give us a idea of what type of flowers we can use. Hoepfully every body in my group will have there propusal ready to go.

my reflection for my own 15 hours.........

For my own hours i had a couple hours of watching my little brother and also i had helped out at the Talantine Center in south philadelphia and also i had cleaned my street with my friends for a hour or two also. I really enjoyed my service learning becuase i had did it with my friends and also i had did these hours with people i had know for my whole life. I loved my hours that actually i wish i could do this all the time. My hours were great.

community service week 6

I had three things that i had liked. I had liked how the class got splet up because we got more done and another thing that i had really liked is that everyone was listening this week. Also my other favortive part of that weeks group was that we all had came into the meeting with new and great ideas. Three things i didnt like were how people where getting ingroent and werent listining and they were speaking very loudly. I think we need to do something about them kids screaming out .

community serive week 5

This week in our service learing group we had got a lot done. We had went through the photos that people had took from last week and we had even came up with a couple of flowers that we can plant even were we want to plant them at. I had went to a planting store in jersey with my mom because she wanted to see what they had and i was looking at the planters for on top of something. They were only like 12 dollars that isn't bad at all.

community service week 4

This week for our flowering group it had went very good. Everybody had got there roles what was a good thing because everything went really smooth and everybody was acting better this week. We had got a lot of ideas from  where we were and seeing where we can put the flowers and things at. We had a lot of ideas because there were kids running around and not acting right so we had decided that we would put something around the flowers so that there wouldn't be kids running over them and ruining them for us. Next week I would like to go back to the constitution center but maybe this week work as a group to get ideas together. Hopefully we will work as a group next week and not just with our friends.  

community service week 3

Our group meeting on Friday was a OK one. Once again people were talking and people were being disrespectful and even rude. But we had accomplished one thing and that was trying to figure out who wanted to be what role and to see who wanted it more. The role i would like to play in this group would be the time keeper. Why? Well when we have to do something in a group and u wanted to do it in 10 minutes i will make sure we are in time and also on schedule. Even for when it is time to leave i will make sure everyone is leaving school at 324. For this weeks meeting on thursday i wish to complete alot of things. To go over to the constitution center to make that viedo for Elie so he can see that we are camited to doing this and also to be on time and not have them wait for us because they were nice enough to give us space to work with over there. Hopefully we will get this done this week and also hopefully i will get the role of the time keeper.

community service week 2

The community meeting for our week 2 was OK. The teachers had taken us round the school building to see what we can fix. Our group had came up with a lot of things that we can do and that we can fix. We had said we can do a lot with the outside by putting something there so that it doesn't look all plane and also things we can do for us. Meaning, we had figured we would make a student lounge and put coughs and stuff like that in there. Also we have been thinking that we could do something with the outside patio that is plane to put flowers and stuff like that out there. We have so many good ideas when we put them all together they can be creative and also can be good looking for our school. I m looking forward to this meeting this week to put all two groups ideas together.

service learing meeting on Friday was .....

I think that it was just ok because our group wasn't really listening to our to teachers. I mean our teachers were trying very hard to get the kids attention but some of them just didn't want to listen. Some were ignorant and very cored with there language. Also next time we have a meeting on Thursday i will try and help out. Meaning if the kids are talking i will try and ask them to be quite and please let them speak. Also the teachers can do what they did last week with the whole magic eraser thing that had worked but the only thing that didn't really work was that they kept giving it to the same people but this time they sould pass it around to everybody and tell them to come up with a idea. Hopefully this week will run alot smother then last week.

service learning

Me and my group haven't really meet yet, but when we do i know that we will come together like we have been working together for a while. We all have our own ideas and when we put them all together we will have a a lot of ideas for this one project. We had have a couple of isueses because at first we didn't have enough parents to come and watch over us as we plant and work on our community service. My mother said she would love to help us with it because she loves planting and artistic things like that. Also i like this group because it has a lot to do with our school because it is like our sister home so we our making our place look good for visitors and even when people like our parents come out to see it. The place will look nice and also they will like the way of the soundings so they will want to go inside. I cant wait to start this project because it will make us look good and also make our school look good.

community service

During my spring break i had did some community service in my neighborhood. Some of the things that i had did with my time was watch my lil brother ( didnt get paid for it haha ), also cleaned my street for a hour on the Saturdays that had past so far. I had learned that by doing this it has helped me learned how important it is to give back to your community. My neighborhood is in the heart of South Philly and people dont really worry about it. So when i was cleaning my street i felt as if i was doing this for the better, meaning i wasnt only doing this because i had to i was doing this because it made me feel good and made my neighborhood a better place.
Also watching my lil brother is a pain. But it was a good thing i had watched him because it was helping my mother she got to go out with her friends to the mall and also it had helped me realize how hard it is to handle a lil kid. My mother i know it is very hard on her between work and also having to try to take care of him and provide for him and me. But this also thought me alot about living.
These experiences really helped me. I m very glad that this school has this program for me. These things that i m doing is making me a better person for me and for this community. Thank you for your time. Hopefully you will go out and try this yourself, believe me it is a great time giving back.
